Open Innovation Day #1

Yesterday morning we opened up or innovation process in an experiment to see if we could make user feedback earlier in the process improve the results with our way of working with innovation. Summing up the first days concepts:

With the wind screen potentially being one big screen there are plenty of things we could improve. One idea was to block out the light from meeting cars (using an eye tracker) so that you wouldn't be blinded but still could see the approaching car:Using the windows (side screens in our example) to show tourist info would guide you through the city (the front screen could show you the street name):

And with a pico projector in a mobile we could have all these ideas in an app:

This has so far been a fairly dormant subject.

E-ink desks would give us a lot of interesting info:
and the possibility to sync devices or to send devices between them more tangible:

Also here augmented reality of course quickly became a topic (with Petit Invention's classic example):

Another topic that was discussed was to improve the feedback from screens, to be able to feel buttons before you press them.

For the section, the future of communication, would this idea work: http://ideas.symbian.org/Idea/View?ideaid=1541

It's something that might have a lot of neat possibilities in terms of UX.
